What are Lab Created Diamonds?

Lab created diamonds are identical to mined diamonds, sharing the same physical, chemical and optical properties as their natural counterparts, with the same brilliance, fire and scintillation. The only difference is origin – lab created diamonds are grown in a laboratory.

Just like an orchid grown in a greenhouse is the same beautiful flower as the exotic orchid found in nature. Similar to a greenhouse, the created diamond process replicates the natural process of diamond formation. A tiny diamond seed is exposed to immense heat and pressure in an environment rich of carbon. The result is a pure carbon crystal – a diamond.

Lab created diamonds are also known as lab-grown or man-made diamonds. Lab created diamonds exist since many years, but only in the recent years technology advanced to the creation of gem-quality diamonds.

Diamond Simulants

Diamonds are imitated by many gemstones. Natural colorless stones like topaz, quartz or white sapphires look similar, but they are different materials. The same is true for synthetic materials like moissanite and cubic zirconia, they are just look-alikes that costs much less.
